Elledge's Tree Services

Trimming & pruning that keeps trees healthy.

Shaping, deadwooding and clearance cuts that keep your trees strong, off your roof and out of the lines — done with cuts that actually help the tree heal.

Not every tree needs to come down. A lot of the time the right move is to lighten it, shape it, and clear the limbs that are causing trouble — over the roof, into the driveway, or rubbing the power line.

Good pruning is part health, part safety. Cut the wrong way and you stress the tree or invite rot; cut it right and you take off the hazard while helping the tree close the wound and grow stronger.

What we do

  • Crown thinning and shaping
  • Deadwood and hazard-limb removal
  • Clearance from roofs, drives, gutters and lines
  • Storm-proofing weak and overextended limbs
  • Raising the canopy for light and clearance
  • Clean cuts that help the tree seal and heal

When it's time for a trim

If limbs are scraping the house, hanging over where you park, blocking light, or you're seeing dead branches up in the canopy, it's time. Same goes for a tree that's gotten heavy and lopsided and you're worried about the next big wind.

We'll tell you straight whether a trim solves it or whether the tree's better off removed — no upselling you a removal you don't need, and no band-aid trim on a tree that's already done.

Why Elledge's

Built for tree trimming & pruning done right

Cuts that help, not hurt

Proper pruning cuts let the tree seal over and stay healthy instead of rotting at the wound.

Off your roof & lines

We clear the limbs causing trouble so they're not dropping on your house or into the power.

Honest about removal

If a trim won't fix it, we'll say so. If it will, we won't talk you into more.

Good To Know

Questions folks usually ask

When is the best time to prune?

For most trees, the dormant winter months are ideal — the tree's not actively growing and the structure's easy to read. That said, dead, broken or hazardous limbs can and should come off any time of year.

How much should you take off a tree?

Less than most people think. Taking too much stresses a tree and can cause weak, fast regrowth. We thin and shape conservatively so the tree stays healthy and balanced.

Do you 'top' trees?

We don't recommend topping — it's hard on the tree and leads to weak regrowth. We do proper thinning, deadwooding and clearance cuts that get you the result without harming the tree.
